"Things That Matter to Me"
Faith
My Christian faith shapes my commitment to servant leadership, compassion, integrity, and hope.
Family
I believe healthy families are the foundation of strong communities.
Community
I am passionate about connecting organizations and people to create lasting solutions.
Stewardship
Whether leading a county department or caring for our ranch, I believe we have a responsibility to invest wisely in the people and resources entrusted to us.
"Let's partner together to create meaningful change—for individuals, families, organizations, and communities."
Helping People.
Strengthening Communities.
Building Lasting Partnerships.
I believe meaningful change happens when people feel seen, heard, and supported. When I'm counseling an individual, facilitating a leadership retreat, developing community partnerships, or mentoring future professionals, my passion is helping people discover hope, purpose, and practical solutions that lead to lasting growth.
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of serving in counseling, public health, nonprofit leadership, higher education, agriculture, and ministry. While those roles may appear different, they have all been guided by one purpose: helping individuals, organizations, and communities flourish.
My Journey
For more than fifteen years, my professional journey has allowed me to work alongside individuals and families navigating life's most difficult seasons while also partnering with organizations committed to strengthening the communities they serve. As a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), I have experience supporting individuals facing trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, and personal growth. My work has included serving college students, nonprofit organizations, women experiencing unplanned pregnancies, individuals involved in the criminal justice system, and families facing complex life circumstances.
Today, I also serve as the Health Services Director for McLennan County, where I implement and lead programs designed to improve access to healthcare, strengthen community partnerships, and support vulnerable populations. This role has deepened my understanding of how collaboration, innovation, and compassionate leadership can create lasting community impact.
Outside of public service, I own Travers Counseling and Professional Services and, together with my family, operate Travers Cattle Company. These combined experiences have reinforced my belief that leadership, stewardship, and hospitality create spaces where people can connect, learn, and grow.
What I Believe
I believe...
-
Every person has inherent value and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
-
Strong leaders strengthen organizations.
-
Communities flourish when people work together toward a common purpose.
-
Lasting growth requires both compassion and accountability.
Whether in a counseling office, church, boardroom, classroom, or on the ranch, these principles guide everything I do.
How I Serve
Individuals
Counseling, support, and opportunities for personal growth and healing.
Organizations
Collaboration, consultation, strategic planning, and educational opportunities that strengthen organizations and the communities they serve.
Churches
Discipleship resources, retreats, leadership training, grief education, and community partnerships.
Communities
Partnerships, public health initiatives, education, and advocacy that promote the well-being of individuals and families.
Beyond My Work
One of my greatest joys is creating spaces where people can slow down, reconnect, and experience meaningful conversations. Many of those opportunities take place at Travers Cattle Company, where our family is passionate about stewardship, hospitality, and creating welcoming environments for retreats, gatherings, and shared experiences.
Whether I'm working with a client, partnering with a community organization, coordinating with a local church, or welcoming guests to the ranch, my goal remains the same:
Helping people heal, grow, and flourish.
